Sigma Chi - History

Sigma Chi Is Founded:

The seven Founders founded at Miami (Ohio) University, Oxford, Ohio on June 28th, 1855.

A New Ritual:

Greek-letter rivals at Miami University stole the ritual and records, which necessitated the preperation of a new constitution, Ritual and a change in name from Sigma Phi to Sigma Chi in 1856.

The First HQ:

In 1914, the first General Headquarters office devoted exclusively to the business of the Fraternity was established in Chicago.

Workshop Starts:

On August 31st through September 3rd, 1947 the first Leadership Training Workshop was at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio.
